Empowering the next gen

Nalingurrie is derived from the Gunggari word Nalingu, meaning to share, and the Bundjalung word Gurrie(pronounced Kurri), meaning clan—reflecting our foundation in collective storytelling and cultural connection.

Founded by Mitchell Harrison-Currie (Mununjali/Gunggari/Bundjalung), Nalingurrie Youth Programs is a First Nations-led creative arts business based in Magandjin (Brisbane), on the lands of the Yugara and Turrbal peoples. We are dedicated to elevating young First Nations voices by creating platforms for artists to collaborate, create, and share self-determined stories across live performance and creative arts sectors.

Youth Programs
We are committed to inspiring First Nations youth by providing access to the performing arts in a culturally safe and supportive space. Through dance, we foster healing, growth, and cultural connection—empowering young people to explore identity, strengthen pride, and step into their roles as future cultural leaders.

First Nations Dance Company
We support Queensland’s First Nations Dance Excellence program, creating pathways for young artists through mentorship, industry knowledge, and opportunities for further education—building capacity and representation within the performing arts sector.
